The 2008 Electra Glide Ultra Classic, AKA Geezer Glide, AKA The Blue Bike.

I was planning on going on a bike trip with some people and go about 4,500 miles.  So I went to the Harley Dealer to
look into getting a windshield for the Softail.  After I priced the windshield and bags and a new seat and then thought
about what the bike would look like after I did all that too it I was not very excited.  The Softail is a bike I specifically
sport tuned and it would not look very good and the carburetor would not perform very good crossing the country.
I was thinking about all this and looking around the show room floor when I noticed a brand new 96in fuel injected touring
bike.  The FLHTCU had the added security proximity feature and the spoke wheel upgrade.  I took these pictures with my
camera phone and sent them to my wife who was out of town at her parents house.  Shortly after sending the pictures I put down a small deposit and then picked the bike up 3 days later when she was back in town.  However if you listen to her you will hear a story about how I waited for her to leave town and then bought a big bike.

I have not really done all that much to this bike other than adding a battery tender cable, some highway pegs, a throttle rocker, a bell, a front windshield pocket and a stage 1 kit, and some heat deflectors. After the cross country trip you can see that Korbin and I did add a Garmin GPS and I will probably add an oil chiller as well.

The 2008 Trip taught me that I need a GPS because I tend to not know where I am and when I figure out where I am the answer was typically that I was lost.  I actually don't mind being lost, however the thought of running out of gas while lost and needing to find a hotel has darn near happened and that's why I spent the big bucks for a Garmin.
The one thing I learned about connecting the ZUMO was to go spend $5 and get a DC voltage probe - it will save a lot of time and make sure have everything connected properly.
